Seven Tips to Flawless Skin

In an era when everyone is clamoring for flawless glowing skin, it comes as no surprise that companies are catering to this by offering tons of skincare products promising to create or maintain that beautiful glow. I mean who wouldn’t want clear, radiant, blemish-free skin? Having dark spots, blotchy patches, or any other type of blemish, makes you self-conscious, and while make-up is great in moderation, it’s oftentimes used as a camouflage. Not only is this unhealthy for your skin, but it overlooks any underlying causes that may have caused the blemishes to begin with.

Finding the causes

Before you find the right solution to fix your skin issues, it is essential to understand the underlying causes; if not you risk implementing the wrong treatment and causing even more harm. An uneven skin tone is one of the primary concerns for women, while acne and shaving related skin issues are the most common concern for men. Some of the main reasons behind these issues are:

  • Hormonal fluctuations

  • Weakened Immune system

  • Extreme sun exposure

  • Bacteria or fungus

  • Allergens

  • Stress

Remedies for flawless skin

You will be very surprised to find that there are very simple and easy methods that will give you that radiant glow:

  1. Eat-healthy. I know you’ve heard this a thousand times before; the fact remains unchanged that when you include fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet and decrease the amount of processed foods from your diet, your skin will benefit. Processed foods contain higher levels of sugar, sodium, and fat and overconsumption can decrease the collagen and elastin in the skin resulting in premature sagging and wrinkles.

  2. Cleanse your skin well. There is no doubt that pollution, dirt, grime, and products containing harsh chemicals can leave your skin dull and lifeless. Therefore, it is essential to have a regular cleansing regimen with natural, toxin-free products suitable for your skin type. This cleansing process should also include exfoliating your skin to remove dead skin cells.

  3. Pamper your skin. Apart from following a regular skincare routine, you must ensure that your skin is pampered with gentle massages and other similar treatments for proper blood circulation and relaxation of the skin. Jade rollers or oil facial massages are a great enhancement for improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, so your skin glows more and looks less puffy.

  4. Keep your skin hydrated. The more hydrated your skin is, the more supple and glowing your skin will be. It is recommended that you drink an adequate amount of water (which varies based upon body size and level of physical activity) to your daily routine. If drinking plain water is boring try infusing your water with fruit to give your water some flare. Depending upon the fruit used, this can aid in cardiovascular, digestive or even blood sugar regulation.

  5. Use sun protection. It’s summertime! Time to relax at the beach and soak up the rays. While Vitamin D is essential for strong healthy bones, excessive exposure to the sun can be extremely hazardous to your skin. Overexposure to the sun can enhance skin troubles like sunspots, blemishes, cause premature aging, and even cancer. Making sure that you avoid going out in the sun at peak times, and applying a quality SPF is essential for your overall health. Try adding shea butter

  6. Cleansing your hair. It’s often found that acne, pimples, bumps, and other issues of the skin occur due to the presence of oil on your hair coming in contact with your skin. To avoid this, make sure that you maintain a regular hair cleaning routine. Additionally, tying your hair up, or wearing a bonnet or scarf to bed will prevent the oil from your hair from clogging your pores.

  7. Proper sleep is vital. When you have a proper sleep cycle, your skin has the opportunity to repair and rejuvenate itself. Saggy skin, dark circles, and lifeless complexion are inevitable signs of lack of sleep. If you want to keep that beautiful glow, try sleeping for at least eight hours a day. Plus proper sleep helps you manage your mood causing less stress.

The bottom line to flawless skin is ensuring that you not only take care of your physical appearance but that you focus on eating properly, drinking adequate levels of fluid, and also taking care of your mental well-being.
